Chapter 1059 1059: Tailed Beast Bomb vs. Beast Wave!
Chapter 1059 1059: Tailed Beast Bomb vs. Beast Wave!
Time seemed to crawl, frame by frame.
At the same pace, the beasts, uncountable in number, thundered forward.
Ordinary, mutated animals. Nothing special, other than each of them possessing an unusual strength. Some were so… unsightly that they couldn't even see or smell, rushing into each other, falling, and getting crushed by their brethren.
Yet, these steaming few drops failed to make the level of beastly-ocean drop.
No matter how powerful a Contestant was, as long as that Contestant didn't have a Skill to decimate an entire country's population of a C+ timeline in one move, it would also be impossible for him to stop the advance of these beasts in one breath.
Meg's firepower was nowhere near that level.
Perhaps, only His Majesty was one of those greatest anomalies who could attempt such a feat and succeed under the 4th Set.
But… she could try.
The yellowness of Meg's robes peeled off like dry skin, revealing a jet black color, adorned with several red clouds.
In the next moment, blue flames surrounded her, lifting her higher.
A growl originated from under Meg's feet, vanishing against the beastly roars coming at her.
"Matatabi…" Meg said, making a hand sign, standing on the head of her two-tailed Origami-Pokemon. "… Tailed Beast Bomb!"
The monstrous Tailed Beast planted its feet on the ground, hissing like a tiger.
The black swirls on its blue-flamed body squirmed as it opened its mouth, narrowing its eyes.
Then, red and blue motes of light began gathering at the tip of its mouth.
In only a fraction of a second, all the red-blue motes of Mana and Breath condensed, becoming a mass of blackness.
Matatabi's penetrating gaze landed deep into the ocean of beasts that had replaced the entire world in front of them.
Then, with a breath, it roared.
A BOOM echoed as the Tailed Beast Bomb crossed the speed of sound off the bat, making Meg, Pokemon, and all the Origamis stumble back a few steps.
The Tailed Beast Bomb became a black, lusterless speck as it reached the Beast Wave.
Then, slowly, it vanished within them, as if it had never existed to begin with.
The first sign of its presence appeared soon, though.
It was a smothered whiteness, like a star losing its shine after reaching its end.
As if following the same, starry logic, the smothered whiteness became a blinding flash, going supernova.
A low, rumbling boom, stretching to infinity, took over the Forest Vault.
If Meg's previous attack of using over a million Paper Bombs was like a nuclear bomb going off, then Matatabi's Tailed Beast Bomb surpassed that feeling by ten times.
All and everything, from beasts to trees, from hills to mountains, disintegrated.
A massive mushroom cloud shot toward the sky, standing atop a ball of fire as large as a small city, its flaming redness scorching space itself.
Even the Forest Vault didn't escape the Tailed Beast Bomb's might.
Thin cracks began surfacing on the sky that was already burning, blanketed by the ashy clouds.
The cracks slithered over the entire region like strikes of lightning, pulsating black.
And that was one Tailed Beast Bomb, fired by not even a proper Tailed Beast.
Meg's Matatabi was a product of her Multiversal Interdependency between Naruto and Pokemon's Bubble Concepts, using her Origami Creation as a primer.
It wasn't a true Magical Creature, per se.
If it had been a Magical Creature, then, like others, it should have possessed Stats.
However, for all intents and purposes, Meg's Matatabi behaved exactly like a true, living being, capable of evolving further into other Tailed Beasts, having a C+ Grade.
Meg's Master Origami Creation had not been capable of accomplishing such a feat when she had obtained the Origami-Pokemon as Shukaku, the One Tail.
It had been the Systems that had awarded her for her exemplary performance in the Tournament of Worth.
Regardless of its origin, and despite not reflecting the true strength of a similar graded Tailed Beast, the Origami-Pokemon wasn't far off when it came to standing true to its name, it seemed.
However, Meg seemed to have underestimated the depth of beastly-ocean.
Unlike before, she had been panting hard, shockwave after shockwave lifting her hair, forcing them to flail wildly.
One Tailed Beast Bomb had drained nearly half her reserves instantly.
And that was when it was the Tailed Beast who had mostly fueled the attack.
Despite all that, because of the obvious, visible result, a smile had bloomed on her face.
That smile flattened as soon as the blinding whiteness of the explosion receded, revealing the decimated grounds.
Hundreds of thousands of beasts must have lost their lives under Matatabi's attack.
But… those hadn't made up even a third of the Beast Wave's true size, Meg noticed, another wave of blackness, made entirely of mutated beasts, roaring its way toward her.
She could use two more Tailed Beast Bombs, but then… what would she do when the Summoner himself appeared?
Her Origamis, her Pokemon, and the Tailed Beast Matatabi…
These were the only trump cards Meg had.
These were the only cards she had.
More often than not, with the 3rd Set in consideration, these cards were far more than enough.
Against a sealed 12th Floor Contestant?
Meg let out a breath, deciding.
She looked to her left, where Croconaw, the C+ Pokemon, given to her by His Majesty himself, stood, growling. The Pokemon donned several scars on his head, with one of its eye scratched off — a testament to the battles he had experienced to reach his Grade.
Now, Croconaw's remaining eye was fixed on the Beast Wave, baring its fangs as he growled.
She then looked to her right and saw flames flickering mightily over Quilava's back. He was quieter than Croconaw, but his eyes possessed the same infatuation for the upcoming battle.
Meg then looked at her remaining Origami Pokemon and Elves, before bringing her gaze back to the Tailed Beast.
"I am the Grand Disciple of a Legendary Sannin!" Meg hissed, levitating midair, the ends of her Akatsuki-robe fluttering like black, stormy clouds. "I am a White Serpent Pirate! But… more than anything… I am His Majesty's sword…"
Croconaw's fanged mouth twisted as he grinned.
Cyndaquil stood on its legs and roared, his flames reaching the sky.
Matatabi's two tails lashed out like a whip as it hissed, its eyes squinting in excitement.
Then, together with all the Origamis, Meg and the Pokemon charged, slamming right into the unending wave of beasts!
