Chapter 407 - 355: Return to Black Stone Territory and Karachi’s Secret Emissary
Chapter 407 - 355: Return to Black Stone Territory and Karachi’s Secret Emissary
The two of them walked inside.
The interior was so empty they could hear their own echoes.
Light streamed in from a huge, unadorned vent high above, forming a massive pillar of light in which countless motes of dust tumbled and danced.
The ground was hardened and leveled, and the walls were rough-hewn rock. Other than that, there was nothing.
There were no tables or chairs, no beds, not even a pile of hay to sit on.
The place was like a cave forgotten by Giants, filled with a raw and empty atmosphere.
"It’s a big place."
Kado glanced around, offering a very pertinent assessment.
Raylo was also very satisfied.
In the perilous Giant Dragon Realm, nothing was more important than a stable, secure rear base.
This would be his first foothold in the Giant Dragon Realm.
"From now on, this will be our home in this world."
Raylo said.
Kado nodded heavily.
Raylo raised a hand, and a gentle current of air gathered around him.
"WHOOSH!"
A fierce wind swept through the stone house, clearing out countless years’ worth of accumulated dust and debris.
After a few muffled thuds, the inside of the house felt much fresher.
"This will do for now."
Raylo clapped his hands together.
He took some jerky and fresh water from his Spatial Bag and handed them to Kado.
The two of them had a simple meal before stepping out of their "new home" once more.
"We should head back."
Raylo said,
"Ed and the others are still waiting."
Their departure from the Giant City-State went smoothly, attracting no attention.
Their figures soon vanished into the vast mountain range.
The sky of the Giant Dragon Realm was high and distant. Clouds flowed by with incredible speed, casting enormous shadows that swept across mountains and rivers.
Two days later, at the temporary camp set up in the forest, Raylo and Kado met up with the waiting party.
"My Lord!"
Ed rushed forward the moment he saw Raylo.
Raylo briefly asked about the situation, and after confirming that all was well, he gave the order to set off.
The party set out on their return journey once more.
With the experience from their journey here, the trip back was much smoother.
They avoided areas occupied by powerful Magical Beasts, carefully passed through the dense forest, and once again crossed the turbulent Canglan River.
Soon, they returned to the familiar yet unremarkable Space Stone Wall.
"Ed."
Raylo said.
"You lead the Griffin Knight Order and the Giants back first."
"My Lord, aren’t you coming with us?"
Ed was a little surprised.
"No, Kado and I still have things to do."
Although he didn’t understand Raylo’s specific plan, Ed executed the order without hesitation.
"Yes, My Lord!"
The Griffin Knights and the Hill Giants passed through the hidden spatial rift one by one, their figures vanishing into the stone wall.
After the last soldier had returned, Raylo watched the spatial rift slowly fade and then gestured to Coal Ball with his chin.
"Coal Ball, same as last time. Cut that stone wall out."
Coal Ball gave a lazy yawn.
It hopped off Raylo’s shoulder, its small claws swiping gently through the air.
As it moved, the air around the Space Stone Wall began to distort and tremble, sending out concentric ripples through space.
There were a few nearly inaudible sounds, like the soft tearing of cloth.
"RRRIP!"
The Space Stone Wall, several meters high, was forcibly "severed" from the world by an invisible power, taking the space it occupied along with it.
At the edges of this severed space, light twisted bizarrely, like a layer of flowing glass separating it from the original world.
"Nicely done."
Raylo praised sincerely.
Kado took a step forward, walking up to the severed stone wall.
He took a deep breath.
His Gravity Domain silently unfurled.
"Hah!"
Kado let out a low roar as his knotted muscles instantly tensed.
He extended his arms and firmly braced the bottom of the stone wall.
The massive stone wall wobbled on his shoulder before he steadied it and heaved it up.
"Let’s go."
Kado said in a booming voice, his steps steady, each one leaving a deep footprint in the ground.
Raylo smiled and followed him.
「Several days later.」
The Space Stone Wall connecting to Black Stone Castle was moved to their new residence in the Giant City-State.
The Space Stone Wall was placed inside the enormous stone house.
"BOOM!"
With a dull, tremendous crash, the ground itself trembled.
Kado set the wall steadily on the solid ground, as if it weren’t a severed piece of space but just an ordinary Stone Slab.
The crude, megalithic architecture stood alongside the stone wall containing spatial mysteries, creating a surprisingly harmonious sight.
The wall’s surface had reverted to the texture of ordinary rock; only by getting close could one feel the faint spatial fluctuations within.
"Kado, I’m leaving this place to you."
"Focus on your training here and familiarize yourself with your Domain Power. I’ll send supplies periodically."
Kado grunted in his booming voice, which served as his reply.
Raylo clapped him on the shoulder, gave Kado a final nod, and then strode into the stone wall.
His vision distorted as light and shadow flashed before his eyes.
The wild, primeval air of the Giant Dragon Realm was instantly replaced by another, more familiar atmosphere.
He was back in the square of Black Stone Castle.
All in all, his trip to the Giant Dragon Realm had taken over half a month.
Seeing Raylo appear, two Personal Guards immediately straightened their backs, their eyes filled with surprise and reverence.
"My Lord!"
"Mm."
Raylo nodded.
"Go inform Alex and Scribe Evan to come to my study in half an hour."
