Chapter 312 - 314: Supporting the Countryside
[A Chinese knot?! Are you for real!?]
[I’m not surprised at all. Did you see the look on that ghost’s face? Priceless!]
[I’m dying! The host knows how to tie Chinese knots!]
[Those are some badass words. I’m almost too scared to listen!]
The man, who had been timid and trembling just a moment ago, froze instantly upon hearing Su Nian’s words.
He glanced at Su Nian in a daze, his eyes subconsciously darting to her hands.
He remembered how those very hands—so fair, delicate, and seemingly fragile—had just twisted him into this grotesque shape.
He decided her threat was highly credible and swallowed nervously.
He said, "I’ll... I’ll talk! Just please don’t tie my intestines into a Chinese knot!"
His expression, on the verge of tears, not only amused the netizens but also startled the other passengers.
The first time they heard that line, it had a certain dark, morbidly humorous quality to it.
But seeing his expression now, they suddenly realized it wasn’t some fucking exaggeration!
This was something that could actually happen!!
Look at that head, then look at this ghost who’d been turned into a stick, his head now flattened and twisted beyond recognition!
They all swallowed in unison and took a careful step back. They really didn’t dare get close to Su Nian. This woman was a real monster!
"I was just trying to make a little extra money! He said he was just sending these girls where they needed to go, to ’support’ the men in the countryside so they could have wives and children too. It wasn’t for my own selfish reasons, really!"
As he spoke, he cautiously glanced at Su Nian’s hands again. For some reason, he had a feeling she was going to rush over and tear him to shreds in the next second.
"It’s not like I did it on purpose! This place is so dark, and it was his idea to do it here. I thought it was a good spot, so I agreed. Besides, all those girls left with him willingly! There was nothing I could do!"
From just those few short sentences, a picture began to form in Su Nian’s mind.
The driver would deliberately create a sense of unease to make the girl suspicious.
Then, at just the right moment, this creepy guy would falsely accuse the girl of stealing a wallet to trick her into getting off the bus.
Once she was off, the girl would see how dark it was and get scared. That’s when the creepy guy would add another line.
’Actually, I just saw a ghost on the bus. I was trying to save you, that’s why I called you over!’
The girl would believe him and willingly follow. Once they reached a more secluded area, a brick to the head or a dose of chloroform would knock her out, and that would be the end of it.
And if a girl was smart enough not to fall for it, the man could just use brute force.
It was a night bus, after all. With so few people on board, there was almost no one who could help her.
A mocking glint appeared in Su Nian’s eyes. She found it laughable. They were clearly human traffickers, yet he tried to paint himself as some noble soul, claiming it was to ’support’ old men in the countryside.
Su Nian’s gaze shifted back to the creepy head.
The head’s eyes were squeezed shut, not daring to even peek at Su Nian.
He was afraid that if he opened his eyes, Su Nian would gouge them out and use them as marbles.
Su Nian looked at him coldly. "Is what you just said true?"
The creepy guy took a deep breath, wanting to defend himself, but in the next second, Su Nian’s hand was pressing down on his nose.
"If even one word of what you say is a lie, I’ll rip your nose right off."
"It’s true! It’s all true! I had no choice, I was forced by my circumstances! And they didn’t even suffer that much! They didn’t die! They’re all alive and well!"
He spoke with a sob in his voice. He was clearly a ghost, yet here he was, being pinned down and interrogated by Su Nian like a pathetic wretch.
He felt incredibly wronged, but right now, his only concern was appeasing the master before him. He was terrified she would kill him.
The moment he finished speaking, Su Nian’s slender hand gave a sharp twist, and a piece of his nose was snapped right off.
His blood had long since congealed and drained away. The bridge of his nose was now bright red, but not a single drop of blood fell.
However, Su Nian’s sudden act of violence still shocked many of the people present.
"Ah! Y-you broke off his nose!"
a girl exclaimed.
Su Nian glanced nonchalantly at the ugly, yellowish thing in her hand, then flicked it to the ground.
"Yep. Just wanted to see if I could."
[Just wanted to see if she could! This host has some real personality!]
[I think these guys are complete animals, trying to make human trafficking sound so noble!]
[What’s this about supporting old men in the countryside? I’ll ’support’ your grandpa’s ass!]
[Ptooey! Dammit, if I were there, I’d stab him dozens of times!]
[My aunt was a victim of human trafficking. She was a beautiful dancer, but by the time we found her, her legs were crippled and she’d had a mental breakdown. I hate human traffickers more than anyone in this world!]
Aside from the righteous indignation of the online audience, many people on the bus were also watching them in silence.
Especially the old lady. Although her thinking was a bit traditional and she favored boys over girls, trafficking people and selling women was something she would absolutely never do.
Standing to the side with her arms crossed, she began to curse furiously.
"What kind of animal are you, trying to make it sound so nice? Supporting the countryside? More like supporting your own damn father! What nonsense! Tricking girls into going to the countryside... have you ever thought that they had bright futures ahead of them!"
The more the old lady thought about it, the angrier she became. Although she didn’t personally know any trafficking victims, she had seen plenty of stories on TV and in the news about beautiful young women with promising futures.
They’d get sold off to some backwater mountain village, never to be found again. And even if they were found, their lives would be ruined.
And now this animal had the audacity to say, with a straight face, that he was sending them to ’support the countryside’!
Seeing his grandmother so furious, her little grandson got a bit scared and stood to the side in confusion.
But he remembered his mom talking about people like this. They were called human traffickers, and he’d heard they even kidnapped children!
So, he also glared at the two ghosts with a face full of anger. The other passengers had also come to their senses, and their looks of disgust stabbed into the two ghosts like needles.
But the two ghosts couldn’t care less about any of that. Instead, they looked at Su Nian with fawning expressions.
"Master! Everything we said is true, not a single lie!"
Su Nian smiled. The next second, her palm slapped against Ghost Stick’s head.
Su Nian’s strength was immense, and she wasn’t holding back this time. With just one slap, she actually knocked his head clean off.
The head went rolling across the floor of the bus.
The onlookers found it both terrifying and satisfying to watch.
But that wasn’t all! Su Nian walked over and stomped her foot right on top of the head.
"You wanted to go support the countryside, right? Well today, I’ll let you go do some supporting!"
"But this time, you won’t be supporting people. You’ll be supporting ghosts."
"I hear some ghosts are missing livers, facial features, that sort of thing. I think you two would be a perfect fit. Why don’t you go do a good deed and support them today?"
