The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 639- Divine Beast

Chapter 639- Divine Beast

"That man should have never been released in the first place!" Melissa complained, clearly unable to hold back anymore. Her voice was filled with anger.

"What were the guards in the capital even doing?! Someone like that should have been dealt with properly."

She looked at Eleanor again and her gaze softened. "But it’s alright now. Lord Reinhardt and I am here. We won’t let anything happen to you again."

Eleanor nodded in relief, fear dissipating from her person.

After making sure Eleanor had calmed down, Reinhardt quietly left the room.

The warmth expression on his face slowly faded, returning to its usual calm. But there was a faint chill behind his eyes today.

As he walked down the corridor toward his office, he suddenly spoke to no one.

"Karina".

Hearing his command, the shadow beneath his feet rippled. Then like a living thing, it moved away from the his feet and slipped into the darkness disappearing somewhere.

Reinhardt didn’t stop walking nor did he speak anything extra. Karina already understood his mind.

.

Underground prison.

Knights of the Temple of Light who were on duty today, stood outside guarding the place.

At this moment, unknown to them, a shadow slowly slipped past them. Unseen and blended with the darkness, it seeped through the cracks and easily infiltrated the prison.

Before long, the shadow arrived before the cell where the crazy stalker was being held.

Then before the latter could realise anything, the shadow latched onto him, wrapping around its body.

Then whoosh... they were gone. The man and the shadow.

A second or two ago they were here and now they were nowhere to be seen.

Later when the knights came to check on the man, they surprised to find that the man was gone. There was no trace of him nor any lead to follow.

It was as if the man had disappeared from this world magically.

From that day, the world never saw that stalker again.

.

Back in his office, Reinhardt was working as usual. There were a lot of documents and reports pending for him to sign.

Everything proceeded as if nothing had happened.

At this moment, the shadow returned back and quietly slipped back beneath him. Karina resumed her duty like nothing had occurred.

Reinhardt didn’t acknowledge anything either but a faint pause in his writing said enough.

He was just finishing up the documents, when...

Buzz... A faint vibration echoed through the room.

Reinhardt glanced at the device on his desk. The transmission artefact that was iven to him by the Queen.

The fact that it was buzzing, could only mean one thing.

"Your Majesty." Reinhardt swiftly picked it up.

"My knight, I hope I am not interrupting you".

The voice that came from the other side, was warm and elegant. Like a beautiful sound that melted in your bones.

"Your Majesty, you are never an interruption".

After a brief stately exchange where the Queen asked him about his territory and on the matters of the world tree, the discussion shifted.

The Queen’s voice became slightly anxious.

"The egg you left with me... It has hatched."

At those words, Reinhardt’s brows slightly hunched up in surprise. His thought drifted to the egg he gave her a couple of months ago. It was present from him and also a form of standing true to his promise.

The beast once hatched would protect her. However, for it too hatch so soon. That was quite a surprise.

"I see..."

The Queen continued, "A beautiful vermillion chick came out of it. I tried feeding it worms, grains and fruits. But it’s not eating anything. It hasn’t moved much either... I’m... concerned."

Her tone grew worried by the end.

Reinhardt didn’t need to hear the rest, he already understood what was going on.

"Don’t worry your majesty, I’ll be there shortly".

After ending the communication with the Queen, Reinhardt called for his secretary Melissa.

"Will it be alright if I step out for a while?"

Melissa checked his schedule and nodded. "You’re free for the day. There’s nothing urgent."

"I see." He finished the work he was in the middle of, before donning his jacket and teleporting to the capital using [Aetherial Stride].

.

.

Royal Palace, Solaris...

With a ripple of light, Reinhardt appeared before the grand palace of Solaris. Then without any ceremony, he entered the gates.

The royal guards did not stop him. For his many achievements, Reinhardt was given the authority to enter the royal palace freely.

Without stopping, he walked through the corridors and soon, the appearance of the person he was here to meet, appeared in his vision.

The Queen of Solaris stood in the garden in all her majesty. Crimson hair cascaded down her shoulders. Her sun kissed skin glowed softly under the light and her graceful, curvy figure was adorned in elegant blue gown.

She wore anklets on her delicate ankles that chimed whenever she moved and a white flower rested delicately on her hair.

No matter how you looked at her, she appeared the very vision of beauty and sensuality. She was overwhelming, not just as a queen but as a woman too.

Reinhardt eyes shifted from the mesmerizing woman to the vermillion chick cradled in her arms.

The moment he noticed her, the Queen too noticed him.

"You are here" Her demanor cracked and she stepped towards him in a hurry. Concern clearly written all over her face.

"What’s wrong with it? Why isn’t it eating?"

Unlike the time she spoke to him on the transmission device, her tone was much closer, intimate even.

It didn’t seem like a sovereign speaking to her subject but rather a woman to a man.

Reinhardt looked at the chick on her arm. It was like a ball of vermillion, so bright it seemed to generate its own light.

Its eyes were large for its head, dark and intelligent. It did not cheep or move and simply sat there in a preternatural stillness in the cradle of her palms.
